The Fabulous Mr G is a small Scottish company specialising in hand dyed yarn and stunning project bags in Harris Tweed and Denim.
I have been sewing, and knitting since I was a child and just love the process of choosing colours and seeing how they interact with one another.
Living in the Royal Deeside valley means I have some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery right on my doorstep. The colours around me inspire me and set off all sorts of ideas in my head which are then transformed into yarn and knitting bags!
Harris Tweed is a very unique textile, which I just love working with. Woven by the islanders in their homes in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, finished in the islands of Harris, Lewis, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist and Barra (The Outer Hebrides) and made from pure virgin wool, dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides.
Harris Tweed has evolved from the traditional greys and browns into the amazing contemporary purples, pinks, greens and blues of todays tweed. It is just so exciting to work with these modern tweeds, which combined with quilting cottons make the most amazing project bags.
Harris Tweed production is protected by The Harris Tweed Act of Parliament 1993, which strictly outlines the conditions in which the cloth can genuinely be made.

Hand Dyed Denim: Each bag is hand dyed in cotton denim and due to the dyeing process every project bag has its unique patterns and colour intensity ensuring no two bags will ever be the same.
